Each of the volumes also has between 19 and 21 illustrations throughout.All Volumes are Edited with Introduction, Notes and Appendices by J.B. Each volume has a map on the endpaper and flyleaf, beginning with Volumes 1& 2 which have maps of the Roman Empire at different times Volume 3 has a map of Europe showing the movement of the Goths and Vandals Volume 4 is just the flypaper which is a map of Italy Volume 5's map is one of Western Asia Volume 6's map is of Southern Italy and Sicily in the 9th-11th Centuries and finally Volume 7 has a map of the Ottoman Empire AD 1400 Cloth. Beautiful reddish orange cloth with leather binding and gilt letters on both the spine and front board. All volumes are firmly bound and the pages bright. ![]() ![]() Each and every volume is in excellent condition both inside and out.
